Human Interface Development

Jaybridge applies internal expertise and a world-class network of domain experts to develop clean, intuitive interfaces.

Simplifying user interfaces is anything but simple. Intuitive and clear human-machine interfaces for autonomous vehicles are critical for safety, ease of operation, reduced training costs, and user confidence.

Design of outcome-based interfaces requires a full understanding of the user and the workflow. The interface must cooperate with the user to get the job done, and it should reflect the user's natural way of working and thinking. This may require options beyond typical graphical user interfaces, including technologies that allow us to see, speak, listen, and touch.

Please contact us discuss human interface development.
We augment our staff's substantial interface design experience by partnering with highly respected advisers and virtual team members, including:

Professor Missy (Mary) Cummings

MIT
Missy Cummings with Stephen Colbert
A naval officer and military pilot from 1988 to 1999, Missy was one of the U.S. Navy's first female fighter pilots. She is the director of the MIT Humans and Automation Lab and holds appointments in the MIT Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the MIT Engineering Systems Division, and the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.

Missy's research interests include human supervisory control, human-unmanned vehicle interaction, bounded collaborative human-computer decision-making, simulation and evaluation of human interaction in automated systems, and the ethical and social impact of technology. She has published over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters and serves on several U.S. national committees, such as the National Research Council's Board on Human Systems Integration.

Marleigh Norton

Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab & Interface design
Marleigh Norton is the interaction design director for the Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab and former interaction designer for the Waterford Institute.

An internationally renowned designer of human-machine interfaces, she has developed augmented reality games on topics such as the illegal wildlife trade, climate change, and local politics as well as educational games for museums. New interaction paradigms are a major interest of hers. Past projects have included collaborative touch screens for the NASA Ames Research Center and voice user interfaces for major telephone companies. She holds a master's degree in human-computer interaction from Georgia Tech, where she created an augmented-reality 3-D puzzle game as her master's thesis.
